She dreams of paradise
Oh happy day, the month of my joyous birth is upon us ;) So in honor of my birth month I'm going to talk about one of my true loves in this world. Music. But instead of talking about how awesome the song is or why this or that band is amazing. I'm going to name a song and tell you about the memory attached to it.
"Life in Technicolor II" by Coldplay - It was September 2009. Debora, Jesse and my self had embarked on our month long Europe trip. We were on the bullet train from Barcelona to Madrid. I had this song playing watching the rolling hills pass by at fast speeds and all I could think about was how lucky and amazing it was to be traveling and how I felt like what Chris Martin was singing "Now my feet won't touch the ground"
"Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley - Hawaii 2009, surf lesson with a local named DW. We were paddling along and started singing this song and all I could think about was how cool this dude was cause he knew my favourite Bob Marley song.
"Dressed to Kill" by New Found Glory - In high school, Calvin would come over and play video games in my basement and we would blast this song and sing along.
"El Matador" by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs - 1994, first trip back to El Salvador, listening to this song and dancing at my grandma's house
"Rabiosa" By Shakira - Vegas trip 2011, getting ready for the club, a couple shots in, dancing. Was a good night.
"Dog days are over" by Florence and the Machine - A.K's birthday, a lot of drinks in, dancing in her living room.
"Swing Swing" By The All-American Rejects - All nighter chats with Stoppable.
Wish me a HBD,
N.
